Post mortem results are expected later this morning on the body of a woman who was found dead in Cork yesterday.

GARDAÍ are continuing to investigate the suspicious death of a 32-year-old woman who was found lying at the bottom of a stairs with head and neck injuries.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out this afternoon on the body of a woman found in suspicious circumstances in Cork city.

The woman whose body was discovered in Cork overnight has been named locally as Jean Scanlon.
