DCC has bought a British-based distributor of electronic office supplies in a deal which could cost up to €17.5m. The company is to pay an upfront charge of €11.9m in cash for 100% of Advent Data.

TWO information days for workers hit by the Dell closure are to be held in Limerick on Thursday and Friday, February 11 and 12.

THE head of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) last night downplayed comments by Defence Minister Willie O’Dea that the organisation is talking to Dell in relation to up to 750 alternative jobs being created at the Limerick plant.

Technology company Sercom Solutions in Clondalkin has announced it is to close in April.

SerCom Solutions, an Irish based provider of supply chain management services, has announced the appointment of Rory Cronin as business development manager.

RESULTS for the first half year at DCC show that profits before tax fell 11% to €31.2 million from €35.2m as the slowdown in global activity impacted on results.

Support Services company DCC has eported an 11% fall in first half pre-tax profits. Pre-tax profits fell to €31.22 in the six months to September, from €35.25 in the same period last year. Turnover fell 4.1% to €975m.

DCC subsidiary, SerCom, a provider of supply chain management and e-business services, is to create up to 150 new jobs as part of a £7m investment in a new facility in Raheen, Co. Limerick.

Dublin based technology services consulting company, Unitech Systems, has just completed a high level technology infrastructure project for SerCom, who provide supply chain management and eBusiness services to the IT and telecommunications sectors.
