There’s a tribute in Ballygarvan GAA club’s committee room that you won’t see anywhere else — a wooden bust of Liam MacCarthy, the man who lent his name to the cup Cork and Clare will fight again for.

BAREFOOT MAESTRO, trained by Paul Hennessy for Cayman Islands owner Bryan Murphy, put up an excellent performance when winning the Ballygarvan Supporters Club Stakes at a benefit meeting in aid of the Ballygarvan GAA Club at Curraheen Park last evening in 28.24.

NEVER GIVE UP can make a triumphant return in the Open 525 at tonight’s benefit meeting at Curraheen, in aid of Ballygarvan GAA Club.
