Never Give Up can return in triumph

NEVER GIVE UP can make a triumphant return in the Open 525 at tonight’s benefit meeting at Curraheen, in aid of Ballygarvan GAA Club.

Never Give Up can return in triumph

Pat Buckley’s ace was one of the top performers on the Irish scene last year, completing a brilliant Irish St Leger, Irish Champion Stakes and Lifford Champion Stakes treble.

Never Give Up is returning from a long lay-off but a recent 28.46 solo trial here augurs well for his chances.

Barefoot Maestro and Deerfield Mover should provide Never Give Up with a searching test.

Scottish Derby finalist Barefoot Maestro numbers a 28.24 course and distance effort among his 16 career wins and represents the powerful Paul Hennessy kennel, responsible for a one-two in last weekend’s Cork Oaks decider.

Deerfield Mover, successful in eight of his 17 starts, is another formidable sort but may find life difficult from a five draw.
