People donned their hats and scarves and endured the freezing temperatures to get out in the snow that fell over the weekend.
Snow, ice and heavy rain were forecast by Met Éireann and two distinct status orange weather alerts were issued for a combined total of 10 counties from Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday, heavy snowfall was seen in many counties across the country, and snow lodged and reached over eight inches in Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary, and parts of Cork.
People took to social media to share their photos and videos of blankets of snow, snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes.
Here's a selection of some snow day snaps and video clips shared online.

The snow also caused a lot of disruption, leaving tens of thousands of people nationwide without power on Sunday.
The defence forces and Civil Defence crews were tasked with helping transport HSE workers to and from their workplaces and patients to and from hospital appointments.
