Caitlyn Jenner may face manslaughter charge after fatal car crash

US investigators are recommending that Caitlyn Jenner faces a manslaughter charge, after her involvement in a fatal car crash.

She ha been accused of hitting another vehicle in Malibu last February, which was then shunted into oncoming traffic.

That driver was killed after being struck head-on.

The accident happened in February when Caitlyn, the stepfather of Kim Kardashian and 1976 Olympic decathlon champion, was known as Bruce.

A spokeswoman for the department said investigators found that Ms Jenner was driving “unsafe for the prevailing road conditions” during the accident.

Her vehicle collided with a Lexus, pushing it into oncoming traffic. The driver of the Lexus, 69-year-old Kim Howe, was killed when her vehicle was struck head-on by another car.

The case will be presented to prosecutors for final review next week, spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said. The district attorney's office will determine what charges Ms Jenner ultimately faces.

If convicted of such a charge, she could face up to one year in county jail.

Ms Howe’s stepchildren have filed suit against Ms Jenner claiming they’ve suffered enormous damages.

The lawsuit by Dana Redmond and William Howe does not specify how much they are seeking. They claim Ms Jenner was negligent when she collided with their stepmother’s car, causing them and other relatives “great losses”.
