Kerry-shot film starring Colin Farrell wins big at Cannes

A film that was shot in South Kerry has been awarded a top award at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The Lobster, starring Colin Farrell, scooped up the Jury Prize - which is considered the third-most prestigious prize at the festival, after the Palme d’Or and the Grand Prix.

The film, which was shot in Kenmare and Sneem last year, has become a favourite with critics and is already being tipped for Oscar success.

During the filming last year, Colin was spotted casually popping into Tralee Omniplex for a break - as you do.

The film centres around the need for single people to find a partner in 45 days, if they fail to find someone before that time they will face the consequence of being turned into an animal.
