U2 buys back Hanover Quay studio for €450k

U2 are buying back the site where they recorded some of their most famous albums in Dublin.

In 2002, the Dublin Dockland Development Authority bought the band's old waterfront studio at Hanover Quay for an undisclosed fee.

The plan was to knock the building to make way for a public space.

In return, U2 were promised the top two floors of a nearby building know as the U2 tower, which never materialised.

The DDDA has now said that it has sold the building back to the band for €450,000.
