VIDEO: RTÉ's Caitriona Perry handled a falling light during a live report like a pro
RTÉ's Washington Correspondent had to deal with an Unexpected Falling Object last night during a live broadcast on the Nine O'Clock News.
Caitriona Perry was midway through a report from New York when a reflector screen toppled over, narrowly missing her.
Despite the close call, Caitriona kept her composure and told the studio that they would have to come back to her, which they did a few minutes later.
Caitriona told Morning Ireland today that it was actually worse than it looked:
“On the other side, off-screen, a couple of light stands started to fall over then as well, and that started to trigger a sort-of ‘domino-effect’ of all the equipment that was around there from all the live points.”
Twitter was full of praise for her professionalism and Caitriona tweeted her thanks, saying it would take more than that to take her down.
Thanks lovely @rtenews audience for kind messages.I am fine!Takes more than a flying reflector shield & lightstands to take me down! #livetv
