Well, this one way to get your act on telly.

Sky News reporter Ashish Joshi was broadcasting live from outside Westminster on Wednesday on the particularly dry subject of NHS reform when viewers may have become distracted by some goings-on in the background.

Two men walked into shot with an odd-looking contraption and began performing a pretty impressive magic trick.

The pair are a magicians act named Young & Strange and the stunt was part of a series called "How To Get Your Own Television Series"

Brilliant.

And Joshi didn't seem too put out about being upstaged - tweeting that he thought it was 'brilliant'.

If you want to have a look behind-the-scenes, Strange and Young have released this video showing the planning that went into this and a few other attempts of getting into live news reports.

No word yet on whether they'll actually get their own show but here's hoping.

UPDATE at 12pm:

Sky News have tweeted from their PR account that the video is not an actual Sky News report - and others have pointed out that the font and graphics look off.

Ashish himself eems to have confirmed it is a fake - although that is definitely him in the video.

So how did Strange and Young do this?

Actual magic, probably. Those damn tricksters.
