Pattinson: Third 'Twilight' takes a different direction

Robert Pattinson says ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is a horror film.

The British actor – who has played lead character Edward Cullen in the previous two movies of the franchise – admits the third film is very different to the ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon’.

He told MTV News: “I’ve seen a very early cut. It’s good. It’s different. It’s really different, like, it’s kind of serious.

“All the kinds of fight scenes that are in ‘New Moon’... they’re real fights now in ‘Eclipse’. They’re not, like, fantasy things. It’s like a horror film!”

Robert’s co-star – and rumoured girlfriend – Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan in the vampire movies, recently revealed she loved returning to work on them as she can understand the development of her character.

She said: “For me it's been so different from anything I thought I'd ever be a part of. I've always said that I never wanted to do a TV series because it's too long, it's too much of a commitment, it's too structured. But it's actually the coolest thing to be able to follow a character for so long.

"Because at the end of most movies I feel like I'm ripped away from a project but in this case it's so indulgent, it's like I get months to work on just one character and then I get to do it again next year, it's really cool."

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is due for release in Ireland next month.
