Grant and Khan sue newspaper

Hugh Grant and his girlfriend Jemima Khan are filing a libel suit against a British newspaper over allegations published about their relationship this weekend.

The Notting Hill star is fuming over an article in the Daily Mail titled 'I never knew he was such a good actor' which he claims is "false and defamatory".

The pair have instructed their London lawyers to press ahead with legal proceedings, insisting the newspaper's sources are made-up.

Solicitors Schillings warns other publications that since the story's allegation "constitutes the entire, specious, basis for the remainder of the article, it follows that the numerous allegations including supposed quotes from sources are false and indeed fabricated".

On Monday, the Daily Mail claimed Grant and Khan have been secretly engaged for six months. The story has yet to be confirmed.
