Trevor all an act

EastEnders star Alex Ferns is about as far removed from method acting - the process whereby an actor stays in character between scenes - as it's possible to get.

According to Kim Medcalf, who plays Sam Butcher, Alex is bubbly and funny, between scenes, even when his character Trevor is at his evil worst.

"He's jigging around the set and generally being fun," says Kim. "And then - click - he's instantly back in character when the director shouts: `action.`"
