The annual survey to hear from farmers, fishers and growers to provide feedback directly to the Agri-Food Regulator has opened.

The online survey gives primary producers an opportunity to give feedback to the regulator and inform the group’s work.

Agri-Food Regulator chief executive Niamh Lenehan, said: “The survey assists the Agri-Food Regulator to better understand the needs and perspectives of farmers, fishers and growers.

“Active stakeholder engagement is a key objective of the organisation, and this annual process is hugely important as the responses allow us to identify ways to help them and deliver on our remit.”

The Agri-Food Regulator aims to promote fairness and transparency in the agri-food supply chain. In carrying out its work, the regulator focuses on the circumstances and needs of the agri-food sector, including, in particular, farming, fishing and small food businesses.

The survey is conducted by RED C on behalf of the Agri-Food Regulator, and responses will remain confidential, with the findings intended to be published at a later date.

The survey is open for four weeks and will close on September 18. The survey is available via the Agri-Food Regulator website or can be filled in in person at the Agri-Food Regulator stand at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.

Attendees can find the Agri-Food Regulator’s stand in the Supporting People, Careers and Business hub (Stand 127, Row 6, Block 4) in the Government of Ireland village.
