Coming up for auction at the end of next week is 26-acre holding near the village of The Rower in County Kilkenny.

Located at Raheenduff in a progressive farming area, the pastureland is laid out in five divisions.

“It’s ideally suited to a range of agricultural enterprises,” says Anne Carton of selling agents PN O’Gorman in New Ross. “It’s in easy reach of The Rower village and the R700.”

The property has frontage onto Church Lane, making accessibility very convenient – so much so that there may well be some bidders on the day who will have a long-term hope of attaining planning permission for a house at some point.

Nothing is guaranteed, of course, except for the fact that this compact agricultural holding will attract a number of suitors – from those looking to expand their operations to those thinking of hobby farming and/or an equestrian set-up.

The Rower is less than a kilometre away while the nearest town of any substantial size is New Ross – around 8km to the south.

The auction takes place at Murphy’s Pub in The Rower, with Anne wielding the gavel, on Friday, July 24. On the back of some strong results in recent auctions, she is confident that there will be good interest for this holding, which is guiding €15,000/acre.
