Up to €20k/acre expected for 63-acre North Cork farm

The 63-acre farm at Grange, Buttevant, is within easy access of the N20.

A 63-acre farm in one of the most fertile parts of North Cork is new to the market with Mallow-based Singleton-O’Callaghan (SOC) Property.

According to selling agent Mary O’Callaghan, it’s a well located holding within easy access of the N20.

“It’s good quality land,” says Mary. “Really top quality, in fact. It’s all in grass and the location is really good because it’s close to Newtwopothouse (5km)… but equally, it’s convenient to Mallow (8km) and Buttevant (6km) and Ballyclough.”

The agent says that the farm has been rented for a number of years but has been well maintained and comes in good heart.

There are also entitlements coming with the property, further details of which can be obtained from the selling agents.

“There’s a great deal of road frontage,” adds Mary, “so it’s very easy to get in and out of.

"There are also a number of sheds on the property and outbuildings with it – an old hay barn, an old milking parlour… so there is plenty of storage with it, which will be useful if being used as an outside farm, for example.”

While it’s still very early in the process, there has been an encouraging level of interest in the farm, according to Mary, with plenty of telephone enquiries early on.

The price expectation is close to €20,000/acre.
