Tens of thousands in damage after JCB used in attempted ATM theft at Mallow supermarket

Staff arrived to find extensive damage after suspects used heavy machinery in an attempted overnight ATM raid

Staff at a Co Cork supermarket received a “nasty shock” when they arrived at work on Tuesday morning and discovered the front of their workplace had been “destroyed”.

Gardaí are investigating what they described as a burglary in which a JCB telehandler was used in the early hours of Tuesday to ram the front of Dano’s SuperValu in Ballydahin, Mallow.
