Stakeholder summit announced as TB cases continue to rise

With bovine TB herd incidence at 6.04% at the end of 2024, a revamp to the TB programme is on the cards as Minister Heydon spearheads a call to action.

The herd incidence of 6.04% is the highest rate Ireland has seen in 15 years.

Discussions of a reset of the bovine TB (TB) programme due to deteriorating TB disease levels are set to take place at the stakeholder meeting.

Minister of Agriculture Martin Heydon said he is calling all key stakeholders for a meeting to discuss the rates of TB to take place on May 8.
