Described by the selling agents as a “prime parcel of grassland”, an attractive roadside holding of 27 acres near Tara, County Meath, is coming up for public auction on the 6th of March next.

The sale is being handled by Maynooth-based auctioneers Coonan Property and the auction is due to take place at the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne in the Royal County.

The farm is located in the townland of Collierstown, close to Navan and Dunshaughlin, with road frontage onto a side road off the R147 and the M3 motorway just km away. The good-quality lands are suitable for most agricultural purposes and are laid out in 5 divisions.

The Hill of Tara is approximately 5km to the west, Navan 12km to the northwest, Dunshaughlin 7km to the south and Dublin City is 35km away.

The property are just west of the village of Skryne, in an area where beef farming is dominant but where dairying and equestrian interests are also very strong.

Given the quality and size of the holding, it will attract a wide range of suitors and its guide price of €350,000 (€13,000/acre) is a realistic one.
