Irish dairy is a low carbon model for others to follow, says World Bank executive Dr Juergen Voegele.

“If every cow was as good as the top 10% of cows in Ireland, we would have a third less methane emissions on this planet,” Dr Voegele told an OECD conference on climate change in Paris.

“If Ireland produces a litre of milk or a kilogram of beef, it does it with a much lower footprint than the rest of the European community.”
