You in the market for land in Newmarket?
Access, according to selling agent Joe McCarthy of Irish and European, could hardly be better.
There is ample road frontage onto the Newmarket-Ballydesmond road and the residential holding, at Ballyduane West, also benefits from a tarred public road leading up to the house and outbuildings.
A good water supply is available in all the fields and there is electricity in the house and yard.
Most of the land (ie 60 acres of the total) is of good quality, with the remaining 20 acres deemed as heavy land.
“We could divide it in two if needs be,” says Joe of the property, which is in permanent pasture about 4km from Newmarket town.
“The old farmhouse and yard are both in need of total refurbishment… no entitlements on it but there is strong local interest and it’s reasonably priced at €7,000-€7,500 per acre.”
At such a price, a substantial holding the size of this will certainly suit a lot of pockets in these times of upscaling and expansion.
This is in the heart of good dairying country and the agents confirm that most of the interest so far has been emanating from that sector from parties who live within an approximately 5km radius of the property.
