Windmill House and its 46.6 acres is a new market entrant and the entire property is for sale by private treaty through Irish and European.
Running along the southwestern side of Kerry Pike village and with good road access on two sides (the main access from the village runs close to the national school), the property has almost 20 acres within the village’s development boundary, conferring long term potential value. Irish and European are quoting a realistic guide price in the region of €10,000 plus per acre for the land, which is part under grass and part ploughed and ready for reseeding. The major selling point is that the property is close to the Apple Computer plant. In a residential area, some eight acres come with zoning for low density housing, and the remainder is zoned for amenity use, which could point at a municipal purchase, says Joe McCarthy. The farm is ideal for a north west city park, he says, particularly as it’s so close to high density housing and the redeveloped Na Piarsaigh GAA grounds.
It’s also prime agricultural land, says Joe McCarthy, with road frontage onto Nash’s Boreen and Lower Killeens. The lands are also within a short distance of the proposed Nor thern Ring Route, which will increase accessibility in the long term.
