Robotic teat spray
This robot can carry out the work involved in treatment of the cow’s teats after milking.
A robot arm effectuates post-treatment of the cows’ teats whilst they are still in their positions on an outer milking carrousel.
The DeLaval teat spray robot is a Stand Alone unit which does not require connection to the milking system’s management program.
In principle this unit can be applied for all brands of outer milking carrousels.
The TSR identifies the individual cow and its teat positioning from time to time via a TOF (Time-Of-Flight) camera which measures the distance to the teats with the aid of a laser.
The robot sprays each individual teat precisely.
By locating each individual teat nipple, the product is only applied where there is a requirement and therefore, according to DeLaval, the spray consumption is less than 10 ml per cow per milking. This robot is capable of treating 300 to 400 cows per hour without interrupting cow traffic. The teat spray is then applied in the carrousel immediately after removal of the milking set. This system does not require manual operation and is equipped with a safety system that ensures that personnel and livestock are not subjected to injury.
The DeLaval TSR spray robot was graded as a three-star Europe New Product at Agromek 2012.
