British and Irish farmers in joint move

British and Irish farmers formed a forum for common action at a meeting in Dublin yesterday.

ICMSA president Pat O’Rourke and British Farmers for Action chairman David Handley, who announced the move, listed the main aims.

Securing the maximum return to dairy farmers from the market place and combining and co-ordinating efforts to combat the growing power of retail multiples are among the objective.
