The Ezviz EP3x Pro adds a new twist to your average doorbell. It features dual cameras, solar-powered charging, and no need for costly subscriptions. This doorbell promises to keep your front door secure in a smarter and greener way.

One of the EP3x Pro’s most impressive features is its dual camera setup. Most video doorbells rely on a single camera, which often leaves blind spots — especially regarding packages left on the ground. The EP3x Pro solves this by combining a 2K primary camera with a 1080p downward-facing camera, providing a full 162° field of view up front while keeping an eye on deliveries left on your doorstep.
The clarity of the main camera in 2K resolution is fantastic. Whether it’s a person approaching your door or just monitoring the street, the picture is crisp and wide, ensuring you don’t miss anything. My favourite feature is the 1080p camera, which allows you to quickly check whether a package has been left on the ground. While I could see if packages or letters were left on the ground on my porch, the downward camera could benefit from 2K resolution so that you can see more details on things such as labels.
The footage is displayed as a single image, albeit split horizontally. During playback, you can zoom in on either of the cameras, which is very handy.
The doorbell’s smart motion detection is intelligent enough to distinguish between humans, packages, and less relevant objects like passing vehicles or pets. This is a relief if you’re tired of receiving constant notifications about every passing car or squirrel on your front lawn.
There’s also a two-way talk feature, which is standard for most doorbells but always appreciated. What makes the EP3x Pro differ is the voice changer option, which allows you to disguise your voice for privacy — potentially useful if you’re cautious about revealing your identity to strangers.
Motion detection can occasionally miss very small objects or people standing close to the edges of the field of view.
Alexa can control this doorbell through the Echo Show. It can also be connected to Google Home or IFTTT to keep everything synced.

The 2K clarity holds up even in low light thanks to its built-in LED and colour night vision. In complete darkness, the doorbell can illuminate the area around your front door and still deliver a colourful, detailed video feed. However, the built-in LED can sometimes be too bright, startling visitors or passersby.
The solar-powered option, which can continuously charge the doorbell, feels like a win for both convenience and sustainability. Installation is easy: no wires, no drilling into walls, and no DIY headaches. The solar panel must be in a sunny spot, but it worked great for me on my sunny windowed porch. For those who prefer, there’s also the option to hardwire it using your existing doorbell wires.
However, in the cold Irish winters, when skies are dull, and daylight is short, you may have to unmount the doorbell to give it a boost charge now and again.
Unlike many video doorbells that rely on expensive cloud storage plans, the EP3x Pro has 32GB of built-in eMMC storage. Recording about 10 minutes daily can hold up to six months of video history. This is a huge plus, as you don’t have to deal with hidden subscription costs or remember to buy an SD card.
Of course, if you want the added benefits of cloud storage backup for all your footage, you can pay a monthly or yearly subscription starting at €4.99 per month or €49.99 yearly for each camera.
The EP3x Pro is built to withstand the elements, with an IP65 rating that ensures it can handle rain, snow, or extreme temperatures. It also has built-in theft protection: if someone tries to remove the doorbell, a loud alarm will sound, and you’ll get an instant notification on your phone. This is one of those features you hope you’ll never need, but it’s reassuring to know it’s there.
The Ezviz EP3x Pro has many great features and a smart design. With dual cameras, solar power, built-in storage, and smart motion detection, it offers features typically in higher-priced models without requiring costly subscriptions.
