The Tribit XSound Plus 2 portable Bluetooth speaker is an upgraded version of the MaxSound Plus, with enhancements including increased power, extended playtime, Bluetooth 5.3, and Party Mode.

The Tribit XSound Plus 2 features a sleek, modern design with a compact, cylindrical shape that makes it easy to carry around. The speaker is wrapped in a durable rubber, providing a stylish look while protecting the internal components.
The front has a metal mesh grille with a Tribit badge in the middle. Around the back is a plastic speaker grille and a rubber flap that protects the USB-C charging port and 3.5mm AUX jack. Its rubberised feet add extra durability and grip, making it an ideal choice for indoor and outdoor use.
Weighing only 580 grams and measuring 198.5mm x 66.5mm x 70mm, the XSound Plus 2 is designed for portability. Its compact size makes it easy to carry in the hand or via the carry strap. The size also allows it to fit easily into a rucksack, making it perfect for hiking, camping, or travel.
The XSound Plus 2 is also water-resistant, with an IPX7 rating. This means it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, making it a great companion for pool parties or beach outings.
The speaker's top has a control strip with power buttons, Bluetooth pairing, volume, EQ, and a special feature button.
Thanks to the innovative RunStretch technology, playtime has been extended by four hours, now offering up to 24 hours of continuous playback (when the XBass feature is not in use). This makes it an ideal companion for long journeys, outdoor adventures, and extended listening sessions. Tribit also sells a similarly priced speaker called the StormBox Flow, which has a longer 30 hours of playback if 24 hours isn’t sufficient for your needs.
With an IPX7 waterproof rating, this speaker is ready for any environment, from pool parties to beach outings.
The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity provides a wireless range of up to 150 feet, ensuring strong, uninterrupted connections even in challenging conditions.

The XSound Plus 2 boasts a 30W output, which is impressive considering its size. This is 6W more than the original, and it can get room-filling loud with excellent clarity and dynamics. Equipped with neodymium full-range drivers, the XSound Plus 2 delivers a wider frequency response compared to traditional magnets. This results in crisp, clear audio for a balanced sound signature across all types of music.
The advanced DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and amplifiers, featuring the patented XBass algorithm, provide an enhanced bass response, which can be turned on via the app or by pressing the EQ button directly on the speaker. The latter has three EQ modes to toggle through, including, by default XBass, XBass off, and Audiobook. Using the app, you can choose from a list of presets for each of the three EQ slots, including a custom EQ preset.
I admit I was a little surprised at how good this speaker sounds. I wasn’t expecting such a powerful, high-quality sound from such a small speaker. It has advanced audio drivers that produce clear highs, detailed mids, and deep bass, ensuring a rich and immersive listening experience. The speaker’s design allows 360-degree sound, filling a small to medium-sized room or outdoor space with balanced audio.
The XSound Plus 2 is compatible with the Tribit app, which allows for preset and custom EQ modes. You can switch between preset modes like Audiobook, MaxSound traditional, Jazz, Rock, and XBass or create a custom EQ curve with nine bands ranging from 80Hz to 13kHz. You can also update the speakers' firmware via the app, customise voice prompts, and set automatic shutdown in minute intervals up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.
The XSound Plus 2 offers easy one-click pairing. You can pair two XSound Plus 2 speakers or connect with the StormBox Flow wireless speaker for an immersive, booming sound. There’s also a Party Mode to double the volume rather than creating a stereo pair.
The Tribit XSound Plus 2 is an impressive speaker with many useful features, including an AUX jack, EQ presets, and stellar battery life. Its compact, durable design and waterproof capabilities make it perfect for outdoor use, while the advanced sound technology ensures an excellent listening experience.
