Man charged with burgling three shops and a pub in Cork
It is alleged a male entered O’Driscoll's bar, Douglas, Cork, on February 19 while the bar was closed and took €360 from a pint glass that was left on the top shelf behind the bar.
Four burglary charges were brought before Cork District Court against a 59-year-old Togher man and he made no application for bail.
The locations referred to in the charges consist of three shops and a pub.
Detective Garda Tom Delaney arrested John O’Shea of 31 Edward Walsh Road, Togher, Cork, for the purpose of charging him.
It is alleged a male entered O’Driscoll's bar, Douglas, Cork, on February 19 while the bar was closed and took €360 from a pint glass that was left on the top shelf behind the bar.
It is alleged he entered Teatopon, Merchants Quay Shopping Centre, on April 14 by lifting the counter and walking into a staff area and stealing stole cash to the value of €412.
It's alleged that on April 29, €2800 was taken from a safe at the back of Art and Hobby Shop, Douglas Court Shopping Centre.
Around this time he is charged with entering a rear storage area of ItSoMe boutique in Douglas through an emergency door to a staff area and taking €800 from a bag belonging to a member of staff.
Diarmuid Kelleher, solicitor, confirmed that the 59-year-old was not applying for bail. Judge Catherine Ryan remanded Mr O’Shea in custody until May 29.
