Irish Doc 'It's Not Yet Dark' Set for Sundance Film Festival
The Documentary which is based on the memoirs of Simon Fitzmaurice who was just embarking on an exciting career as a filmmaker when he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease(MND) and has since been paralysed from the disease. This came at a hard time personally as his wife had just become pregnant.
The documentary follows Simon’s journey as he went about directing his first feature film, all while being completely paralysed by the illness using only his eyes and his assisting computer.
The Documentary is directed by Frankie Fenton and Narrated by Colin Farrell who said:
"I'm so excited for Simon and Ruth, who have shared their lives and hearts with us all in the making of this documentary, to have their world premiere in Sundance. Simon is nothing if not a true independent spirit and his thoughts and feelings as beautifully documented in this film deserve the biggest stage, the brightest lights. It was such an honour to lend voice to Simon's observational poetry and self-servingly being a part of his life as a friend and fellow collaborator has enriched mine no end. Congratulations to the filmmakers and all involved in this huge and deserved achievement.”
