Facebook starts supporting Apple Live Photos
This is a new feature found on the latest iPhones that captures a three-second video surrounding the time that a photo is taken. Apple says that "At the heart of a Live Photo is a beautiful 12-megapixel photo," but you also get the moments before and after the picture was taken along with sound to bring the photo to life.
It's similar to what HTC's Zoe tried, but that failed to garner the support of heavyweights such as Facebook.
A small number of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S users are currently testing out this feature. Facebook plans to expand its availability in the coming weeks and months.
If you are one of the select group, you'll be able to share Live Photos in the coming days from Facebook's iOS app. If you want to view a Live Photo on your News Feed, you'll need a device running iOS 9; otherwise you'll just see the standard 12MP photo.
