Batman Arkham Knight PC patch leaked

The first proper PC patch for Batman: Arkham Knight has been glimpsed in the wild before quickly being taken down by Warner Bros Games

Batman Arkham Knight PC patch leaked

The issues with Batman Arkham Knight's release on PCs is pretty much the stuff of legend these days, with the game performing so badly that Warner Bros Games was forced to remove the title from all physical and digital stores. Which is sort of a big deal.

More than two months after release, the game still hasn't seen any significant patch on PC to deal with issues like terrible frame rates and progress-killing bugs. A triage patch had been promised in August but that plainly hasn't happened, so players who did buy the game way back when are still waiting to actually get down onto the grim streets of Gotham.

But there's hope in sight - a patch appeared on Steam yesterday for those who have opted into the beta version of the game. It appeared without warning and was gone almost as quickly. But not quite quick enough to avoid being downloaded and used by some avid gamers.

A forum on Steam makes it sound like the improvements were plain to see, with smooth performance at 60fps seeming like the biggest change post-patch. Some users were complaining about the patch size being so small - a mere 600 megs - and that probably means this isn't the final update the game is going to get.

Still some fixes are better than nothing and this release suggests the patch is almost ready for release. If it gets the game back into a position where it can go on sale again that would be great news for gamers, and Warner Bros would want to update its users on when the full patch will be coming.

We'll have word as soon as the proper update drops.
