A real life Jurassic Park would cost $23 billion to build
The folks at Fandango put together a video to break down the costs involved in opening and running a Jurassic Park. The final tally just to open and run the park for one year comes in at $23,432,400,000. You’ll need another $11.9 billion if you want to keep the lights on every year!
Surprisingly, the largest expense is not the creation of the dinosaurs themselves. It’s the ownership of the islands and the park construction. The video estimates that InGen would have had to pay $10 billion to get its hands on both Isla Nublar, where the park is, and Isla Sorna, where the dinosaurs are raised.
The park in Jurassic World attracts around 20,000 visitors a day. Hopefully the park sells a lot of food and drinks to cover its expenses. It’s just as well the park’s creators thought more about if they could do it than if they should.
