Limerick Chamber has announced Michelle Gallagher as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Dee Ryan who stepped down to run in the Limerick mayoral election during the summer.

Ms Gallagher brings 20 years of experience with her across multiple sectors including MedTech, Life Sciences, Consumer Electrics and Aviation, with the new CEO holding senior leadership roles in multinational corporations, startups and SMEs.

The Chamber added that Ms Gallagher has experience in "both B2B and B2C markets," adding that her ability to expand global brand presence across Ireland, the UK, EMEA, and international markets positions her as an "ideal leader to guide Limerick Chamber into the future."

The Limerick native holds a degree in Visual Communications from the Limerick School of Art and Design (TUS), a master’s degree in interactive media, and an Executive MBA with First Class Honours from the University of Limerick.

Michelle is actively involved in community, sporting, and voluntary sectors, Limerick Chamber said, adding that as President of the MBA Association of Ireland, she oversaw operations and organised events that contributed to the professional development of over 2,000 C-suite and executive members across the country.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Gallagher said, “I am honoured to take on the role of CEO at Limerick Chamber. Limerick has seen remarkable growth, and I am committed to ensuring that the Chamber continues to be a leading advocate and support for businesses here.

"I look forward to working closely with our members and the Chamber team to continue and build upon this momentum.”

The Board of Limerick Chamber has expressed strong confidence in Michelle’s leadership, with Limerick Chamber President Noel Gavin adding: “Michelle’s track record of driving transformative change, coupled with her deep connections to the Limerick community, makes her uniquely suited to lead the Chamber into a new era."

"As CEO, Michelle will focus on advancing Limerick Chamber’s strategic vision, enhancing its advocacy role, and fostering a business-friendly environment that supports local traders, SMEs and larger enterprises."
