Grant Thornton in expansion mode, adds two new senior roles
Grant Thornton movers: David Leal Alonso, Trevor McCarron.
Professional services firm Grant Thornton has appointed David Leal Alonso as head of strategy and operations, EMEA, and Trevor McCarron as chief financial officer, EMEA.
The two senior appointments come at a time of rapid expansion for the Grant Thornton advisors' multinational platform EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) team, enhancing its ability to deliver connected, cross-border services to clients.
David joins the firm from Citadel Securities, where he was vice president in the office of the chief operating officer in New York. Prior to this, he spent over four years with McKinsey & Company in Spain and the US. Based in Madrid, David will focus on shaping the strategic direction for the region.
Trevor’s appointment as CFO for EMEA is an expansion of his current role as CFO of the Irish firm, which he will continue to hold. He joined the firm in 2017 and was appointed partner in 2023.
Steve Tennant, managing partner, Grant Thornton Ireland and EMEA CEO of the Grant Thornton Advisors platform, said: “Strengthening our EMEA leadership is an important step as we continue to scale a more connected and aligned platform across the region.
“David and Trevor bring invaluable expertise in strategy, operations and financial leadership – all critical to how we execute at pace. Their appointments strengthen our ability to operate as one platform across EMEA and deliver consistently for clients as we continue to grow.”
