Passenger numbers and turnover rise at Cork and Dublin airports
Passenger numbers at Cork Airport rose 14% in the first half of the year.
Passenger volumes rose 4% to 18.6 million at Cork and Dublin airports in the first half of the year with turnover increasing to €536.1m, up 6%.
Publishing its annual results, DAA, the airports operator said it made further investments in people and technology in first half of this year H1 to raise standards and improve services.
According to the results, group operating costs rose to €375.3 million (+10%), with profit after tax before exceptionals of €77.8 million (-5%).
DAA operates Dublin and Cork airports, runs global travel retail through Aer Rianta International (ARI), and provides international airport management and consultancy via daa International.
Passenger numbers were 16.96m at Dublin Airport (+2.7%) and 1,645,765 at Cork Airport (+14.4%).
DAA CEO Kenny Jacobs said: "It’s been a strong first half despite cost pressures and the teams at daa have really delivered an awesome summer for passengers at Cork and Dublin airports and the shoppers at our 37 travel retail businesses worldwide."
