Latest figures show reduction in numbers signing on Live Register

The Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 2,200 (-0.7%) to 330,000 last month on a seasonally adjusted basis.

In unadjusted terms, there were 316,586 people signing on the Live Register in November 2015, an annual decrease of 36,061 (-10.2%), according to the latest CSO figures.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Live Register showed a monthly decrease of 1,100 (-0.6%) men and 1,000 (-0.7%) women signing on over the same period.

The number of male claimants decreased by 26,572 (-12.4%) to 188,154 in the year to November 2015, while the number of female claimants decreased by 9,489 (-6.9%) to 128,432.
