'Apple car' rumours fuelled by high-tech test centre

Apple engineers are said to have made inquiries about a former California navy base-turned test centre, revving up rumours that the tech giant is designing a car.

The former naval station in the San Francisco Bay Area city of Concord has been converted into a testing ground for self-driving cars and other cutting-edge vehicles.
