Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe is remaining tight-lipped on the status of the IAG bid for the Government’s stake in Aer Lingus.

It has been suggested today that the sale of the airline now hinges on Ryanair’s intentions for its own 29.8% stake.

IAG has reportedly made a fresh pledge to the Government to retain Aer-Lingus' prized Heathrow slots for Irish routes for seven years.

However, Minister Donohoe refused to be drawn in on such reports.

He told Newstalk: "I'm not going to comment on any of the speculation...I will be receiving a final report soon from my advisors, and I will then bring that to Cabinet."

When asked when specifically the report would be ready, he said: "It will be soon."
