Making the most of famland - report due today

A report on maximising the potential of Ireland's agricultural land is being released this morning.

The Oireachtas Agriculture Committee examined how best to balance four demands on land into the future.

They were increasing food production under Harvest 2020, offsetting carbon, the provision of clean water and the protection of habitats for biodiversity.

The report will inform Ireland's approach to EU sustainable agriculture and land use from 2020 to 2050.
