US politicians nearing 'fiscal cliff' deal
Democrats and Republicans say signs of progress are emerging in urgent negotiations to avert the looming US fiscal cliff ahead of a midnight deadline.
A source said Democrats have offered to extend tax cuts for families making up to US$450,000 (€340,445) a year and individuals earning up to $400,000 (€302,618).
