Weetabix makers bought by Chinese outfit
The UK company that makes the breakfast cereal Weetabix has been bought by a Chinese outfit.
The Weetabix Food Company has sold a 60% majority share to Bright Foods.
It is the latest in a long line of Chinese bids for some of the world's most famous brands.
Weetabix's chief executive, Giles Turrell, says the UK will remain its main manufacturing home even if one day the cereal eaten in China is produced there:
"That may happen for that market, this business, the UK, is still the largest part of the Weetabix food company globally we need to continue to invest and grow and make this business successful"
