The ISEQ index of Irish shares finished up 13 points to 3,280, a gain of 0.4%.

On the risers' board, Providence Resources was up 10.75% to €5.15; ICON added 7.79% to €16.82; Dragon Oil added 6.08% to €7.74 and Kenmare Resources was up 6.08% to €0.64.
