ISEQ up over 2%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 61 points to 3,068, a rise of 2.01%.

Among the risers, Readymix climbed 5.56% to €0.19; Elan Corp was up 4.71% to €10.67; Independent News & Media gained 4.55% to €0.23 and C&C closed up 3.37% to €3.25.

Also on the move were Paddy Power, up 2.64% to €43.50; CRH, adding 2.38% to €15.50, and Kingspan, up 2.21% to €7.30.

Among the fallers, Smurfit Kappa shed 1.33% to €6.32.
