ISEQ down over 1%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed down 30.15 points to 2,711.14, a fall of 1.10%.

Among the fallers, Smurfit Kappa closed down 34c to €4.25; Aer Lingus shed 2c to €0.67; Aryzta was down 55c to €34.85 and C&C slipped 4c to €2.79.

Also in the red were CRH, closing down 15c to €13.35; Paddy Power, shedding 47c to €40.13 and Ryanair, down 4c to €3.80.

On the risers' board, Providence Resources added 18c to €2.45, Origin Enterprises was up 6c to €3.25 and Elan Corp added 11c to €8.68.
