Irish shares enjoyed significant gains today following moves from Brussels to tackle the eurozone debt crisis.

The ISEQ index closed up 100.34 points to 2,766.38, a rise of 3.76%.

Among the risers, Kenmare Resources added 5c to €0.51; Independent News and Media was up 2c to €0.27; Smurfit Kappa added 35c to €4.95; Ryanair was up 17c to €3.49 and Grafton Group climbed 14c to €2.80.

Also on the rise were Aryzta, up €1.14 to €34.88; FBD, adding 20c to €6.50; C&C Group, climbing 8c to €2.90; Paddy Power, adding €1.01 to €40.71 and Elan Corp, up 11c to €7.90.
