The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 16.25 points to 2,604.54, a rise of 0.63%.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 16.25 points to 2,604.54, a rise of 0.63%.

Among the risers, Providence Resources added 10c to €1.86; Elan Corp was up 20c to €8.10; CRH gained 26c to €12.95 and Irish Continental climbed 15c to €14.65.
