Rabbitte announces media-merger supervisory body

The Minister for Communications has announced plans for new legislation giving responsibility for the supervision of all media mergers to the Government.

Minister Pat Rabbitte said the law, which is being finalised, will put in place a legal definition of media plurality, in terms of both ownership and content.
