Stocks have plummeted right across Europe and on Wall Street amid new concern over Greece, and talk of danger for France's credit rating.

Stocks have fallen in Ireland, England, Italy, Germany, Spain and France.

Shares in the French Bank Societé Generale fell by 20% this afternoon, and the knock-on effect has caused nearly a 4.5% fall in the main German share index.
