BP announces Indian oil-and-gas investment

BP has announced a major investment in India.

The company is paying £4.4bn (€5.2bn) for a 30% stake in 23 new oil and gas production contracts.

The deal is a joint venture with Reliance Industries, one of India's biggest companies.

The alliance will invest in the uptake of natural gas in the country.
