ISEQ marginally down

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed down 2.86 points to 2,683.40, a drop of 0.11%.

Among the fallers, Grafton Group shed 9c to €3.05; Elan was down 6c to €3.91; FBD was also down 6c to €6.18 and Glanbia slipped 4c to €3.40.

On the risers' board, Merrion Pharmaceuticals was up 15c to €3.65; CRH also added 15c, to €12.45; Smurfit Kappa climbed 8c to €7.71 and DCC closed up 6c to €20.62.

Banking stocks were mixed, with AIB down 2c to €0.34 and Bank of Ireland down 4c to €0.54 but Irish Life & Permanent adding 6c to €20.62.
