ISEQ down at close

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed down 16.29 points to 2,827.99 today, a fall of 0.57%.

On the fallers' board, Paddy Power shed 40cv to €25.00; Kerry Group was down 38c to €22.80; CRH slipped 20c to €16.52; FBD was down 14c to €6.56 and Elan Corp shed 12c to €3.71.

Among the risers, Aryzta added 18c to €30.77; Smurfit Kappa lifted 14c to €6.77 and Tullow Oil was up 20c to €12.65.

Financial stocks were mixed, with AIB and Irish Life and Permanent both up 5c, to €0.86 and €1.48 respectively, but Bank of Ireland down 1c to €0.62.
